LEGO reveals obnoxiously cool Godzilla set

Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, is finally getting the brick treatment

I love LEGO and I love Godzilla, and the two are finally coming together in a bad ass, wild, sick package.

For Godzilla Day (every year, November 3rd, lock it in) all the parties involved debuted this gorgeous new LEGO set.

The IDEAS set contains 5363 pieces that will put together a truly giant creation. Standing at over 27 inches tall, this version of the King of the Monsters is based on the MonsterVerse iteration, which is Hollywood’s version. That means we get the blue flame and back plates, and the more “sumo” stance.

The limbs and head are posable, and the fire breath can be swapped out with Godzilla’s tongue.

It really does look impressive, using a combination of the piece flats and studs to simulate the creature’s scales and skin.

That it’s the MonsterVerse set is intriguing, because that implies that perhaps we’ll also eventually get King Kong, Mothra, King Ghidorah and others. In my case, I just want Jet Jaguar.

The Godzilla set will go up for order on November 27th (Black Friday) for $449.99 in the US exclusively on LEGO.com. Early purchasers will also get a LEGO Godzilla footprint nameplate while supplies last.
