Bethesda celebrates 40th anniversary with Elder Scrolls news
In a video today celebrating 40 years of Bethesda Softworks, Todd Howard revealed the next Elder Scrolls game will officially be titled The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel.
Sentinel is the name of a city in Hammerfell, located in the North West of Tamriel, the series’ main continent. The game was first announced at E3 in 2018, and a demo was recently played by new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who noted in a tweet that the title was 8 asterisks long. Well, S-E-N-T-I-N-E-L is eight letters, and fans of the series put two and two together based on her message to accurately predict the name.
Maybe we’ll find out more about The Elder Scrolls 6 Sentinel at Xbox’s likely next Summer Showcase in June 2027, but we just hope it doesn’t take another 40 years before we actually get to play it.
